You've got good products, you spend time every evening, but your skin still isn't where you want it? Often the problem isn't what you buy — it's how you use it. Here are the seven most common mistakes we see again and again, and the easy ways to fix them.

1. You skip sunscreen (or only wear it in summer)

This is mistake number one. Up to 80% of visible skin aging comes from the sun — and UV rays pass through clouds and windows all year round. No matter how many serums you layer, without SPF half the effort is wasted.

The fix: Sunscreen every morning, 365 days a year. Korean formulas are lightweight and leave no white cast. Browse the suncare.

2. You over-exfoliate

Scrubs and acids give that "clean" feeling, so it's easy to overdo it. But exfoliating too often damages your protective barrier — the result is redness, flaking, and stinging.

The fix: Exfoliate 1–2 times a week, not every day. If your skin is sensitive, start once a week. See the exfoliators.

3. You apply products in the wrong order

A thick cream before a watery toner? The products won't absorb properly. The Korean routine works on a simple principle: thinnest to thickest.

The fix: Cleanse → toner → serum/essence → cream → sunscreen (mornings). Wait a minute between layers.

4. You skip moisturizer because your skin is oily

It sounds logical — oily skin, so no moisturizer, right? It's the opposite. When skin is stripped, it produces even more oil to compensate.

The fix: Choose a light, non-sticky cream instead of skipping it. Browse the creams.

5. You switch products too fast

You buy a new serum, use it for a week, see no miracle, and give up. Skin renews on a cycle of about 28 days — real results take time.

The fix: Give every new product at least 4 weeks before judging it. And introduce one new product at a time, so you know what's working.

6. You wash your face with hot water and scrub hard

Hot water and aggressive rubbing strip your natural oils and irritate the skin. "Squeaky clean" isn't a good sign — it means you've washed away the protection you need too.

The fix: Lukewarm water, gentle circular motions, and pat dry (don't rub) with a soft towel. See the gentle cleansers.

7. You expect miracles in days instead of staying consistent

The biggest secret to great skin isn't an expensive product — it's consistency. A simple routine every night beats a complex one once a week.

The fix: Build a ritual you'll actually keep. Not sure where to start? Take the skin quiz or browse the ready-made bundles.

Your skin doesn't need more products — it needs the right habits. Fix even two or three of these mistakes and you'll see the difference within weeks.
